I have had the wonderful opportunity of visiting Newfoundland a number of times, as well as living there for almost 5 months. It became like a second home to me. To learn more about how I ended up there, see A Little More of the Story, And finally... I made it East, and What a Place.

One of the things I love the most about Newfoundland is the people, and their ability to live very much from the land using what they have available to them. I explain this a little further in the post Self-sufficiency

This blog is a way for me to share all of the wonderful things I learned about the people, culture, and history. I will share my experiences, the beautiful landscapes, recipes, and other tidbits that are Newfoundland to the core. Since I have returned to Ontario, Newfoundland has remained very special to me, and I think everyday how hard my Newfoundland family work's in order to eat, heat their house, and be able to live comfortably. I keep this in mind as I live my life, and try to stick to my roots, crafting, baking, cooking, and exploring. This helps me appreciate the hard work required to survive in years gone by.

This blog is evolving a little to include bits and pieces of our growing family. Reggie and I married in September 2011, and now we are expecting baby #2 as a little sibling to our son, and Black Lab. As our little family grows I plan on sharing some of the new experiences in motherhood and family life.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I hope you love it. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. :)
